The pieces in this collection are mostly large-scale paintings, made during the 3-year period that Leah was living in Tucson, Arizona, for her graduate studies. They explore the collision between man-made structures and the desert landscape. These paintings have a highly imaginative quality that juxtaposes images of nature and structure. They investigate themes of excavation, construction and personal integration in an unfamiliar place.
